Searching for William Deever

We're in search of William Deever, born 1800 - possibly Pocahontas, West Virginia.  We believe that his parents came from the United Kingdom; and we're reaching out to UK geneaology records.  Next step:  checking with UK libraries and newspaper records . . . and, of course, we have a "please help" out on Ancestry.com to find our detailed tracks back to the River Dee.
