Woodwork Masterpiece of Segmented Turning

From the 1^st Century BCE to the 1^st Century CE, ribbed bowls were luxury ware.  Eastern Mediterranean workshops flourished – producing works for the new Roman market, including Syrian and Palestine.

Bob Deever (brother) created “Tribute To Trajan” – and, it is a masterpiece of reimagining ancient style and segmented turning. 

•         NOTE:  Trajan, a soldier-emperor, was known for his philanthropic rule over the greatest military expansion in Roman history.

Composed with 164 pieces of black walnut, curly maple and purple heart, this woodwork is 8 inches tall and 9 inches at the top.
