*NOTE:  This image was created in 8 stages.  Beginning with the foundation photo, I added a sun and duplicated it 2 more times - ultimately, blending it into the first composite.

The first composite was transformed into a variety of visual treatments - then, I painted 3 to 4 versions of the treatments that I thought would carry the emotional impact wanted.  (I did go back and re-do parts of the composite before applying filters and re-painting the effects into the final image.)

In all, there were 4 composite templates created and 39 images created to finish the image provided here.
