Mistakes Can Create Beautiful Art

The “FIRST BLUE SNOW” missed being selected for the upcoming “Light and Shadow” Exhibition at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery in Merriam, KS . . . by one social media vote.  True story.

I’m sentimental about this artwork because it took me more than a week to digitally create it – due to my visions of its content being too stubborn to materialize as I had originally imagined it.

More than most artists, I always suspect – my work benefits by mistakes.  Eventually, the mistakes, in this image, layered into a surprising, heart-touching way . . . and, I came to love it more than is reasonable.
