In 1969 Berlin, the City is divided by a physical wall. In East Berlin, citizens suffer from food and housing shortages as well as lack of choice. The secret police are everywhere.

The second generation of the internation family of 1949 return to Berlin, carrying conflicts from other parts of the world with them. Although the career paths of the 1969 generation forces them apart, their common goal to claim freedom inspires them to fight with purpose and love.
