“NIGHT AT THE VIENNA OPERA”

In Chapter 5 of “1989”: Book Three of the Historical Fiction Trilogy “Starlings of Peace”, two distinguished East German citizens meet their West German son in Vienna, Austria.  The father is a scientist, and the mother is on the personal staff of East Germany’s leader, Erich Honecker.

They celebrate their weekend together by attending the famous opera, La Bohème, in the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper).
