"Winter Dissolves Into Spring" began as dried, bare trees atop a cliff. When I composed the foundation photograph, I imagined the eventual artwork would be a black and white image of some sort.
When I loaded it into my computer, the branches became brittle with cold and ice. The sky turned gray, with a black cloud thickening above that seemed fragile and forlorn.
The story emerging before my eyes was not one I like to tell.
So, here's the story we're going to share . . . and feel better for it.
"Winds from the south blew seeds of new growth across gently rolling hills . . . long ago. Trees of several kinds grew on the hilltops - and mingled their leaves as breezes waltzed through. Seasons come and go - as time allows . . . and we breathe in patience, exhale acceptance of beauty in ideas of various temperatures."
