“Tall Trees Tower Through The Rain . . . ” was inspired by an excerpt from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s(1807-1882) “The Rainy Day”:

“. . .  Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;

Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.”
