“Bridge To The Other Side” is an image inspired by an idea that floats on the surface of history.
The historic river obstacles are famous beyond their banks: the Yangtze, the Rubicon, the Volga, the Seine, the Rhine, the Thames, the Delaware, the Mekong . . .
Yet, humans crossed them. If they couldn’t do it the known way, they learned what was unknown. If they couldn’t do it with what they had, they invented something new. If they couldn’t do it the easy way . . . they were willing to do it the hard way – and pay the price.
While creating this image, I thought I saw a moon – but maybe, it was a flame on a far away cliff – or perhaps, it was a lantern in the belfry of an old church tower – or, it is just the moon that lights the path when the bridge is recognized . . . and later, when the bridge finally helps us cross.
