The joy of being a stream was so thrillingly captured by Alfred, Lord Tennyson in his poem “The Brook” – which includes this description:

“. . . By thirty hills I hurry down,

Or slip between the ridges,

By twenty thorpes, a little town,

And half a hundred bridges . . .”

I would like to be a stream – before the ice and snow of winter slows me down.
