"Ladder In The Garden" began as 20 versions of a base photo that consisted mainly of drab green, grey, and a touch of tan. It's been sitting in my files for about 6 months because I thought I had lovelier images more ready to be vividly transformed.
Unlike other photographic artists who instantly know a comforting and / or encouraging image the moment they see it, I often take photos that immediately appear too uninteresting.
It isn't until a photograph is in my computer - and I begin experimenting with it - that I discover pleasing combinations of line and color . . . by accident.
